Main Duties

Throughout the six month programme, you will join us at the studio for two days a week. Over the first three months, there will be a focus on developing your technical and employability skills through a range of workshops delivered by industry professionals. You’ll further your understanding of studio and natural lighting, image editing, commercial photography and freelancing skills. We’ll support you every step of the way with study skills sessions, workshops, professional mentoring and peer-to-peer guidance.

Over the next three months, you’ll put all your learning into practice. You’ll develop your portfolio by working on a self-elected commercial brief, with guidance from the TPF team. At this stage, the workshops will be tailored towards supporting you to actualise your goals, whilst using all the resources on offer to you. The programme will culminate in workshops on editing, sequencing, and a portfolio review; before working towards your final group exhibition.

You don’t have to be a professional photographer to apply, the purpose of the programme is to nurture your potential. To thrive on the programme, you will need to show that you already have some practical experience of producing photographic, or similar, media. We want to see that you are ambitious, and that you have thought about how the programme will support you to reach your goals and boost your career, whilst being open to growing and changing along the way. You will have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and to manage your time to achieve self-led outcomes. You will be motivated to succeed and to make the most of the learning and opportunities on offer to you.
