Main Duties

We are looking for an enthusiastic piano/keyboard tutor to guide young musicians through the early stages of learning the piano.

The ideal candidate will have:

Prior experience of teaching music to learners of primary school age

A drive to provide high quality musical education to each and every pupil

The ability and willingness to experiment with different styles of teaching and adapt to different styles of learning (sometimes in the middle of a lesson!)

BENEFITS

The chance to exercise your creativity and develop your practice through devising your own content

Supportive staff who be glad to provide you with what you need to deliver your lessons

Our only requirement is that our learners are having fun and are ready to perform from time to time or sit exams!

ABOUT US

We strive to make the arts accessible to all through our classes - we prize the use of language as a gateway to music

We only take on students that we feel will thrive with us, so you can expect a steady stream of lovely young people who actually want to learn music!

We are a growing company; we value our worker’s input and love to hear about any ideas that they may have to help make us even better!

The current days are:

- Tuesday: 3.30 to 7.30 pm

- Wednesday: 3.30 to 7.30 pm

Sessions last half an hour for children agreed between 5 - 11 years old.

Extra sessions might also happen on Mondays and Saturdays.

Skills and Experience

As a tutor, you will be responsible for:

Devising lesson content ahead of time, based upon overarching goals for the term (ie Melody, Harmony, Rhythm etc)

Delivering engaging one on one 30 minute lessons that are tailored to each learner’s particular style

Creating a positive atmosphere in which learners can thrive as they work towards end-of-year performances
