Legatum Institute

Main Duties

PURPOSE
Working to the Director of Communications, the Digital Communications Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the Legatum Institute’s digital communications, leading on multi-media content creation and management of key digital platforms. The post-holder will have a specific responsibility for creating and editing audio and video content.


ACCOUNTABILITIES
Specific duties


- Curate and maintain the Legatum Institute website, including management of software, basic coding, provision of content, and SEO
- Devise, create and edit audio content, including podcasts
- Oversee and lead on the Institute’s video content from conception to publication, including concept videos, speeches and interviews
- Curate and maintain all Legatum Institute social media platforms, including drafting content, advising on engagement strategy, and overseeing paid promotions
- Manage the Institute’s digital marketing campaigns, including developing and distributing our newsletter
- Report on and analyse the impact the Legatum Institute’s digital communications to provide trackable progress to the Director of Communications, CEO, and Board of Trustees
- Assist in the management, use, and maintenance of the Institute’s in-house AV equipment and auditorium


General duties
- Liaise with external suppliers as ensure the smooth running of all the Legatum Institute digital platforms
- Support the wider work of the communications team, for instance by assisting with the production of content (including press releases, event invitations, infographics etc.) and supporting stakeholder engagement efforts
- Assist in promoting the broader work of the Legatum Institute through the cultivation of relevant stakeholders from politics, the media, business and academia
- Serve as an ambassador for the Legatum Institute, by assisting with the hosting of events and ensuring branding is used appropriately

Skills and Experience

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Experience
- Experience of successfully managing corporate websites, including basic HTML coding, with knowledge of WordPress preferred
- Experience using video and photo editing software, with knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro preferred
- Experience of successfully managing social media platforms, with knowledge of Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Vimeo and SoundCloud preferred
- Experience of digital content creation and distribution, including newsletters, with knowledge of platforms such as Dotmailer, MailChimp or equivalent preferred
- Experience of interpreting analytics data for websites and social media channels to provide insights and recommendations for future activity
- Experience of managing relationships with external suppliers and third parties, ensuring work is completed on time and on budget

- Excellent organisational skills including ability to prioritise tasks wisely, meet deadlines under time pressure and manage numerous projects at once
