Main Duties

  • Managing the day to day administration of the Contemporary Art Society’s Fine Art and Craft Acquisition Schemes and Museum Membership
  • Assisting with the organisation and delivery of the Continuous Professional Development Programme for museum professionals, including assisting with events and database management
  • Writing and updating online content about the Contemporary Art Society’s curatorial work including image and copyright clearance
  • Work with the programming team to contribute towards strategic programming ideas
  • Updating and managing the Contemporary Art Society’s database and computer filing systems
  • Responding to external enquiries effectively and efficiently

Skills and Experience

  • BA in Art History/ Cultural Studies/ Curating or another relevant subject
  • Knowledge of contemporary visual art and artists
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, including the ability to prioritise work.
  • Interest in museums and collections
  • Excellent IT skills, including the use of audio and video editing software, word processing, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Database and email applications
  • Ability to work effectively on own initiative and as part of multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to lead on researching, developing and delivering projects as required
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Well organised and able to work on several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Effective written communication skills
