Main Duties

Brent Cross Visitor Pavilion - Welcome Host (Full time)

Argent Related is a well-established urban property developer, known for delivering large high quality regeneration projects, and multi-award-winning public spaces.

A full-time (40 hours per week) Welcome Host is sought to support the General Manager in setting up and operating a brand new, 158 sq m purpose-built Visitor Pavilion. The Pavilion is located on the development site, and will become the go-to destination for all who wish to find out more about the future of Brent Cross; members of the public, local school and community groups, visiting professionals, clients, stakeholders and colleagues.

This is a new and very varied role and you will be carrying out many different tasks throughout the day. For example

  • providing friendly and informative information about Brent Cross Town to the many diverse visitors to the Pavilion.
  • setting up presentations using the latest technology, and preparing for visiting groups by ensuring any requirements are met (such as setting out additional seating, additional meeting space requirements)
  • increasing your knowledge of the development plans and the local area so that you can speak confidently about it to visitors.
  • ordering supplies.
  • diary management to ensure that any meetings or events are scheduled correctly.

The Pavilion will be open 9 am – 6 pm Wednesday – Sunday except for Thursdays when it will remain open until 8 pm. It will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

This role is full-time, 40 hours per week.

We aim for staff to occupy the Pavilion by w/c November 8, and to open the doors to the public from w/c November 15.The position reports to the General Manager of the Visitor Pavilion.

Skills and Experience

Skills

Whilst no formal skills or qualifications are required for this role, it would be helpful for you to have a working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act.

You will need to;

  • Be a clear and confident written and verbal communicator, and will be at ease speaking with a wide range of visitors.
  • Power up and operate IT and digital equipment each working day, and additional requirements as briefed by the BXT team.
  • Have excellent IT skills for e.g. diary management, presentation set-up.
  • Be an efficient administrator with strong organizational skills.
  • Undertake such other duties as the Partnership may reasonably require from time to time, and as may be notified to you.
  • Cover for the nearby Information Station staff member from time to time, as requested by your line manager.

Other Skills and Knowledge

  • Work at all times with reasonable care to ensure the health and safety of yourself, your colleagues, and all visitors.
  • Co-operate with your employer, understand the company’s health and safety policies, and undertake any training as required.
  • Work to uphold the health, safety, environmental and quality standards expected in the offices and around the development. This includes identifying, reporting and resolving issues where possible.
  • Use internal systems effectively and follow internal processes as required; follow Argent’s Information Management principles of “single source of truth”, ownership of data, record keeping and consistent taxonomy.
