Brent Cross Information Station - Welcome Host (Part time)

A part-time (12 hours per week) Welcome Host is sought to manage a key information point, located within a parade of units just outside the Brent Cross underground station. The objective of this information hub is to generate awareness, interest and data capture for the Brent Cross Town scheme, its Visitor Pavilion and the residential product offering. The role reports to the General Manager of the Visitor Pavilion - a brand new, 158 sq m purpose-built centre which is located a short bus ride away near Claremont Way on the main development site. The Pavilion will become the go-to destination for all who wish to find out more about the future of Brent Cross; members of the public, local school and community groups, visiting professionals, clients, stakeholders and colleagues.

This role is part-time, 12 hours per week to be worked on the following days; Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. The Information Station will be open Thursday 4pm - 8pm, Saturday and Sunday 11am - 3pm.

We aim for this role to join the Visitor Pavilion staff for training w/c 15 November, and to work in the Visitor Pavilion until we open the doors of the Information Station to the public from w/c 22 November.

The position reports to the General Manager of the Visitor Pavilion.

This is a new and very varied role, and you will be carrying out many different tasks throughout the day.

Duties will include:

  • Meeting and greeting all visitors to the Information Station.
  • Providing information about the scheme to visitors including directions to the Visitor Pavilion.
  • Carrying out duties assigned by your line manager.
  • Managing the Information Station visitor experience and coordinating diary management and events in the unit.
  • Working collaboratively with the Marcomms and the Community Engagement team.

The main focus of the role will be to:

  • Deliver a friendly, welcoming and informative visitor experience to all visitors.
  • Be a member of the Marketing and Comms team for Brent Cross. Three members of the team will be based in the Pavilion, alongside this role in the Information Station.
  • Work collaboratively with your Pavilion colleagues and with other on-site and head office teams.

As this is a new role it is anticipated that over time the role may evolve to encompass additional tasks and responsibilities.

Whilst no formal skills or qualifications are required for this role, it would be helpful for you to have a working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act.

You will need to:

  • Be a clear and confident written and verbal communicator and will be at ease speaking with a wide range of visitors.
  • Have good IT skills for e.g. diary management, presentation set-up.
  • Be an efficient administrator with strong organizational skills.
  • Undertake such other duties as the Partnership may reasonably require from time to time, and as may be notified to you.

Other Skills and Knowledge

  • Work at all times with reasonable care to ensure the health and safety of yourself, your colleagues, and all visitors.
  • Co-operate with your employer, understand the company’s health and safety policies, and undertake any training as required.
  • Work to uphold the health, safety, environmental and quality standards expected in the offices and around the development. This includes identifying, reporting and resolving issues where possible.
  • Use internal systems effectively and follow internal processes as required; follow Argent’s Information Management principles of “single source of truth”, ownership of data, record keeping and consistent taxonomy.
