Tufting Workshop Leader

Salary Above London Living Wage, based on experience.

Main Duties

About Us:
We’re a friendly, creative craft studio, with 2 locations, Highgate and Covent Garden, and we’re looking for enthusiastic tufting teachers to join our team. We run workshops for adults (and sometimes kids) and want to make tufting fun, accessible, and inspiring for all skill levels.

The Role:
As a Tufting Workshop Teacher, you’ll lead small group classes, guiding participants through the tufting process from start to finish. You’ll share your expertise, encourage creativity, and ensure a safe, supportive, and enjoyable learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach tufting workshops (introductory level only)
  • Demonstrate proper use of tufting guns, frames, and other equipment.
  • Help participants design, tuft, and finish their own pieces.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are followed at all times.
  • Set up and tidy away equipment before and after workshops.

Skills and Experience Required

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience with tufting (using tufting guns, preparing backing fabric, cutting/finishing rugs).
  • Prior teaching, tutoring, or workshop experience is highly desirable.
  • Ability to explain techniques clearly and with patience.
  • Friendly, approachable, and supportive teaching style.
  • Reliability and punctuality are essential.

Extras (nice to have):

  • Experience running creative workshops or community craft sessions.
  • Knowledge of colour theory, design, or other textile/craft skills.
  • First aid or health & safety training.
