Main Duties
Rosetta Arts is seeking two passionate, trainee visual arts facilitators to join our freelance team for THRIVE. Through THRIVE, we will work with schools and cultural partners to deliver new arts-led Science and History curricula, and a creative careers programme for year 5 pupils in Newham. THRIVE will be delivered by Rosetta Arts, in partnership with Eko Trust, Contemporary Visual Arts Network London (CVAN London), and Newham Council’s Heritage Service.
The Trainee Facilitator will work alongside the Lead Facilitator in both the design and delivery of this exciting project. One Trainee will focus on supporting co-creation and delivery of the History curriculum and the other will do the same for Science. Both Trainees will work on supporting the creative careers programme. You will be working alongside experienced artists, teachers and will receive support from the Rosetta Arts team.
This is a formative role that gives you practical experience to learn and build knowledge and skills to work within the participatory arts sector. We encourageartists of any age to apply who are emerging practitioners looking to develop skills in designing inclusive arts curricula, facilitating arts workshops in schools, and working with diverse groups of children including those with SEND and EAL. We are looking for people with a commitment to collaboration, empathy, and inclusive practice.
Skills and Experience Required
- Support the Lead Facilitator and school teachers to design a new inclusive arts-based Science curriculum/History curriculum and creative careers programme
- Support the Lead Artist to prepare for delivering workshops
- Support the delivery of engaging, accessible visual arts sessions in schools tailored to the needs of Year 5 pupils with SEND and EAL
- Work collaboratively with Rosetta Arts staff and school and heritage partners to ensure an inclusive, safe and supportive learning environment
- Support with school visits to local cultural organisations
- Support with the sharing of the children’s work at school/in the community
- Support evaluation by collecting feedback, contributing to reflective practice, and participating in team learning
We envision this as an entry-level role and would like to hear from people who are interested in starting a career in participatory arts education.
