Main Duties
The Other Art Fair is an international art event that connects independent artists directly with art enthusiasts looking to add to, or begin, their art collection.
The Welcome Desk Lead will provide event and attendee management at The Other Art Fair London for the March 2026 edition (5-8 March). The ideal candidate is energetic and upbeat, personable, detail-oriented, and communicates effectively.
- Serve as the main point of contact for the Welcome Desk (Check-In/Registration) and ensure that additional event check-in staff members are performing duties.
- Manage onsite setup of check-in desk, preparation and breakdown of all materials (table-top signage or postcards) and technology (point of sale and hand-held scanners) at the start and close of each shift.
- Ensure all materials (which can include postcards/leaflets and wristbands) are stocked, and technology is charged throughout the duration of the event.
- Ensure all attendees are being greeted and welcomed to the event, checked in (via pre-purchased ticket or on-site ticket purchase), and directed through the entrance.
- Ensure attendees with pre-purchased tickets are correctly scanned via handheld device
- Ensure tickets purchased on-site are processed correctly through our point-of-sale (POS) system, which is an app on an Apple iPad along with a tap/chip credit card reader.
- Assist in troubleshooting technology issues that arise from the additional check-in staff members, as needed. This may include re-starting the software app, checking filters within app settings, re-connecting to wi-fi, and/or power-cycling the device.
- Assist in troubleshooting any customer service issues that arise from the event attendee, as needed or requested for support from additional check-in staff members.
- Assist in traffic/crowd management at the check-in desk which can include directing traffic from one line to the next, with the goal of checking in attendees as quickly as possible.
Skills and Experience Required

- Familiar with technology (app use, QR code scanning, settings within apps, etc.)
- Familiarity with ticketing software is a bonus, but not required.
- Comfortable overseeing a small team of additional event staff
- Comfortable with standing for periods of time
