Main Duties
We have built a state of the art workroom and are looking for competent tailors that can contribute at the highest level.
Talented tailors would be ideal who will bring their experience as well as have a thirst of learning. A great attitude is key.
What the role will involve:
- Creator of the Mirpuri Bespoke Experience
- Collaborate with your team and our clients before/potentially during/after fittings to ensure a seamless, luxury client journey.
- Ensure your team take precise measurements, pin garments, and recommend alterations in keeping with our clients wishes and expectations.
- Ensuring you and your team participate in and lead fittings, offering expert guidance with warmth and professionalism and keeping the Mirpuri service ethic at heart.
- Prepare garments for final fitting and ensure timely, immaculate delivery to clients.
- Craftsmanship & Technical Excellence
- Tailor management to ensure meticulous alterations and repairs on both simple and structured pieces are carried out, ensuring invisible, precise results.
- With your team thoroughly assess each garment, identify necessary adjustments, and execute alterations without compromising design integrity.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fabrics, construction techniques, and the latest trends.
- Perform rigorous quality checks, guaranteeing precision, cleanliness, and craftsmanship.
- Operational Efficiency
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully equipped atelier, ensuring machinery, tools and supplies are in optimal condition.
- Record and track all alteration activities using our internal processes and procedures.
- Coordinate alteration workflow, manage timelines, and communicate clearly with clients and management.
- Participate in morning meetings to share expertise and ensure alignement
- Team & Brand Contribution ensuring aligned clarity, expectations and accountability.
- Demonstrate agility and flexibility to support business needs, especially during peak periods (Fashion Week, BAFTA, BFA’s etc.).
- Contribute to the smooth running of the alteration service, assisting with inventory and supply management.
- Exhibit strong team spirit, collaborating with colleagues and seeking managerial support as needed.
- Uphold Mirpuri standards of punctuality, professionalism, and personal presentation.
Skills and Experience Required
- Must have middleweight-level post graduate tailoring experience at the highest level in both hand sewing and machine use.
- Consistent and proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement and looking ahead to pre-empt challenges
- Passionate about fashion and craftsmanship.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a meticulous approach to every stitch.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-first mindset.
- Organized, thorough, and proactive, able to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic retail environment. Adaptability is important, as you will need to handle unexpected changes.
- Flexible and adaptable, available to work retail hours including weekends and peak periods.
- Open-minded and curious, eager to learn and grow within a collaborative team.
- Ability to take constructive feedback and pass that on to your team.
