Main Duties

We’re looking for a passionate and motivated Entry-Level candidate to join the Motion Design team at Intermission Film, an award-winning creative agency specialising in audio-visual and design work for the entertainment industry.

In this role, you’ll support the studio across multiple projects, contributing to all stages of the creative process while learning from experienced designers. The role requires self-motivation, excellent time management, and the ability to work to tight deadlines. You’ll develop your understanding of working in a motion graphics department while growing your creative and technical skills in motion design. As you grow in the role, there will be opportunities to take on more creative responsibility and contribute to high-profile campaigns. Alongside your creative development, you’ll also play a role in supporting the day-to-day running of the studio, helping with front-of-house duties and general office upkeep as directed by the Office Manager.

This is an office-based role, working from our London studio.

 

What you’ll be doing…

Motion Design Department

  • Assisting in the research and development phase of projects.
  • Sourcing and sharing creative references, trends, and inspiration.
  • Creating mood boards and presentations.
  • Collaborating with producers and editors.
  • Creative problem-solving and ideation.
  • Demonstrating attention to detail and maintaining organised project files.
  • Working to deadlines and clearly communicating with producers.
  • Coordinating with teams in our global offices. (New York, Amsterdam, Melbourne)
  • Managing handovers, timelines, and feedback efficiently across teams.
  • Keeping up to date with design trends whilst developing and learning new skills and software.
  • Keeping up engagement/awareness with Social Media advertising in Film & TV, and also wider trends on key social platforms. (TikTok, Instagram etc).
  • With training, using Adobe After Effects and other Adobe Creative Cloud applications to assist with motion projects.
  • Assisting with asset preparation, amends, and deliveries.

Office and Front of House 

  • Support with daily office set-up and end-of-day tasks (e.g. dishwashers, bins, opening up)
  • Ensure the office, kitchen, and bathrooms look tidy, presentable and well-stocked at all times
  • Undertake any deliveries or general errands as directed
  • Support in greeting guests, answering the phone, and any other ad hoc reception duties
  • Support with the upkeep of our other office locations as and when needed, e.g. Lunch or holiday cover

Skills and Experience Required

  • A passion for design – in particular motion design, typography, graphic design (an interest in 3D is a plus).
  • A proactive, flexible, and open-minded approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team.

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Awareness of confidentiality and data protection best practices.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (especially After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator) is a plus but not required.
