Main Duties
REPORTS TO: Projects Director & Managing Director
ROLE TYPE: Entry-level – Intermediate
Motive is a design and build studio specialising in contemporary spatial projects for brands. From our South London studio we work with an international network of local suppliers to deliver high-impact projects through a low-impact lens.
The role involves being responsible for the successful and efficient coordination of the Motive studio alongside developing strong ties with our local community.
We are looking for a proactive and organised person who enjoys working in a fast paced environment. You will have worked for a minimum of 1-2 years within a similar role. The ideal candidate would have a personal interest in community outreach and / or sustainability.
This role is suitable for someone who is currently studying for an impact or sustainability based BA or MA.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
STUDIO:
- Act as first point of contact in the studio for clients, contractors and delivery drivers.
- Assisting the Managing Director and Heads of Department with administration tasks.
- Maintaining the organisation and upkeep of the studio and workshop area.
- Purchasing supplies and equipment for the studio and reconciling expenses.
- Booking and managing contractors working in the studio, i.e cleaners or trades people.
- Liaising with IT support when required.
- Completing adhoc tasks in the studio
PROJECTS
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and others by telephone and in person
- Booking couriers and ordering samples on behalf of the projects team.
- Completing access requests for installations & de-rigs on behalf of the Projects team.
- Assisting the project management team to get quotes from suppliers and to source and procure elements for projects.
COMMUNITY & IMPACT
- Complete Motive Project Reports in collaboration with the assigned Project Manager
- Manage the repurposing of elements from client projects to community groups, charities, and schools.
- Establish and maintain connections with community groups and charities based in the local area of our studio or projects.
- Work with the Projects Director to enhance our supplier database.
- Work alongside the Managing Director & Impact Strategist to create annual reports for our B Corp Certification.
Skills and Experience Required
Requirements:
Ability to work in our studio in Elephant & Castle
Experience working in a creative studio.
Strong written and communication skills.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work to a given budget.
An interest in sustainable and ethical production
Strong sense of initiative
