Main Duties
I am looking for a maker to join my studio on a project basis. The role involves supporting the production of hybrid ceramic pieces that combine clay, porcelain, and 3D-printed elements. This is an opportunity for someone interested in interdisciplinary making, contemporary craft, and collectible design.
2 days per week, for 2 months (with possibility of extension)
- Assist with the production of handbuilt clay and porcelain pieces
- Basic studio maintenance and organisation
- Packing and preparing work for shipping
- Glazing and kiln preparation
- Plaster mold making and slip casting
- Assembly of ceramic and 3D-printed components
- 3D scanning of ceramic forms
- Ideally: 3D modeling skills
- Support the general workflow within the studio as needed
Skills and Experience Required
Since the project is multidisciplinary, the ideal candidate should feel comfortable working with ceramics, while any 3D modelling or 3D printing knowledge is considered a plus. The candidate doesn’t need to be proficient in all of the skills listed below. Any combination of these skills, together with a curiosity to expand into the rest, is welcome.
- Handbuilding in clay
- Plaster mold making and slip casting
- Working with porcelain
- Basic 3D modelling (Rhino, Meshmixer, Fusion, etc.)
- Experience with 3D scanning / 3D printing workflows
- Confidence working with tools and general workshop equipment
