Main Duties

Antenne Books is a London-based distributor of independent publishing, working with a wide catalogue of publishers from around the world and distributing to shops and retailers across the UK, Europe, North America and Asia. Our catalogue focuses on art, photography, design, fashion, theory, writing and contemporary culture, and we operate both as a distributor and an online platform for independent publishing.
We are looking for a software developer / programmer to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is suited to someone with a strong technical background who is also curious about cultural publishing and digital platforms. You will help maintain and develop our Shopify website, explore new digital tools, and support the evolving online presence of Antenne Books.
You will work closely with our small team to ensure our digital infrastructure supports both our publishing partners and our audience.
Position
Part time (1 to 2 days per week), available immediately.
Salary to be discussed depending on experience.Working from office in Farringdon/London, not remote.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage our Shopify platform and related systems.
  • Develop custom website features and improvements.
  • Work with APIs and third-party applications to extend site functionality.
  • Explore and test new apps, integrations, and digital opportunities.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure site stability and performance.
  • Collaborate with the team on digital strategy and improvements.

Skills and Experience Required

Requirements

  • Experience in software development and web programming (e.g. JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Liquid).
  • Experience working with Shopify themes and app integrations.
  • Knowledge of APIs and third-party services.
  • Ability to work independently and manage technical tasks with care and attention.
  • Interest in independent publishing, art, and cultural platforms is highly desirable.

Desirable

  • Experience with e-commerce platforms or custom storefronts.
  • Familiarity with backend technologies (Node.js, Python, PHP, etc.).
  • Understanding of UX/UI and performance optimisation.
