Project Manager

Salary £32,000 - £34,000 per annum, depending on experience
Hours The hours of work are 35 hours a week (and we are open to discussing part-time options).

Main Duties

The National Youth Arts Trust (NYAT) is a small performing arts charity that exists to widen access to the performing arts for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds – through giving bursaries for music, dance, and drama lessons, running youth theatre projects, running our mentoring scheme for drama school graduates, and taking children to the theatre, often for the first time.

The Trust is seeking a Project Manager to work alongside the existing team, to help run the day-to-day operations of our small and successful charity, with a focus on developing and running new charitable projects and events.

 

Skills and Experience Required

✓At least middleweight-level experience of working in the arts or charity sector in a management role (we are especially interested in youth theatre and mentoring project management experience).
✓ Proven experience of project management and development in the arts or charity sector and is good at building relationships.
✓ Experience of organising project and/or fundraising events.
✓ Has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
✓ Is self-motivated, with the ability to use own initiative.
✓ Is proactive, able to work independently, good at planning ahead and managing a varied to-do list.
✓ Has excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
✓ Has good computer literacy, including knowledge of MS Office, databases, and social media platforms.
✓ Has tact, empathy, and discretion in the handling of sensitive material and confidential information.
✓ Has a thorough commitment to and knowledge of youth engagement in the performing arts.
✓ Is willing to undertake some travel (within the UK) to visit projects and events and occasionally work evenings and weekends when required.
✓ Must be able to work from home, and travel to central London for regular meetings.
