Product Design Assistant

Salary £28,000 - £32,000 per annum

Main Duties

The Role

Working closely with the Design Director, Senior Designer, Buying and Merchandising, you’ll support the development of ranges across accessories, ceramics, stationery, knitwear and loungewear, from early research and concept generation through to sampling, approvals and launch.

As your confidence grows, you’ll gradually take ownership of specific product areas and contribute more independently to design development.

What You’ll Do

  • Research trends, competitors and markets to support seasonal concepts
  • Create product visuals, colour palettes, technical drawings and artwork
  • Support range building using sales data and commercial insight
  • Assist with product development from concept through sampling and production
  • Prepare and maintain clear, accurate specification briefs
  • Manage sample approvals and liaise with international suppliers
  • Create packaging, barcodes and manage design registration

Skills and Experience Required

About You

  • Entry-level / middleweight-level industry experience in a product or design assistant role within a lifestyle or fashion brand
  • A relevant design degree
  • Strong Adobe Illustrator skills
  • Confident with colour, print, product development and range building
  • Organised, detail-driven and commercially aware
  • Collaborative, curious and keen to learn
  • Happy balancing creative work with the practical realities of product development
