Pottery Studio Manager & Teacher

Salary £30,000-40,000 per annum
Hours 20-40 hours a week
Location West Midlands - B95
Closing Date 06 January 2026
Position Type Full Time
Advert expires on 06 January 2026

Main Duties

If you are a clay artist with some pottery technician and studio management experience, have a passion for teaching, and dream of running your own pottery studio but lack the financial means to get started, this is the perfect opportunity.

We are establishing an artist-led gallery & pottery studio with 12-15 wheels & a gallery space in Warwickshire between Stratford-upon-Avon and Solihull. We are seeking a pottery studio manager to take control of the studio and teaching programme so that the owner can focus on the gallery, promotion/marketing, and general management. Main duties are managing membership access & teaching scheduling, maintaining a clean and orderly studio, maintaining inventory and ordering supplies in a timely manner, providing pottery tuition (up to 20 hours per week), and providing managerial direction to assistants and/or interns. The studio manager will have 24/7 access to the studio and is welcome to use the space to continue developing their own artistic practice.

Skills and Experience Required

The ideal candidate has developed their own artistic practice in clay, has a passion for teaching and experience delivering pottery wheel classes from beginner to 4-8 week intermediate courses, has a good network in the UK to draw on for guest classes & workshops, has experience as a lead technician in a pottery studio and can manage & maintain a studio from basic clay prep to firing and maintaining kilns, and can provide managerial direction to pottery assistant and/or intern.

If you fit some but not all of the skills and requirements of the job, we are willing to consider hiring two people on a part-time basis rather than one person full-time.

The studio will open in Feb/Mar 2026, and the position starts Jan/Feb. Relocation allowance paid for the right candidate (UK only).
