Part-Time Jeweller & Studio Assistant (Retail, E-commerce & Benchwork)

Salary Above London Living Wage, dependent on experience
Hours Minimum 2 days including Saturdays
Location South London
Closing Date 30 January 2026
Position Type Part Time
Advert expires on 30 January 2026

Main Duties

1–2 days per week – Saturdays required

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and creatively minded jeweller to join us part-time, working in-house across two independent jewellery brands:

  • Ros Millar – one-of-a-kind fine gold and gemstone jewellery
  • Kasun London – contemporary collections using 3D printing and innovative processes

The role is based in our combined shop and workshop, offering a varied and hands-on position that spans retail, e-commerce, benchwork and content creation. It is particularly well suited to a jeweller looking for flexible part-time work alongside their own practice. There is also the opportunity to discuss working additional days if this suits your schedule and skills.

The Role

Your working days will include Saturdays, with your time split across a varied mix of tasks for both jewellers. No two days are the same, and the role offers genuine insight into the running of small, independent jewellery businesses.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing thoughtful, engaging customer service and driving sales on the shop floor
  • Acting as a point of contact for bespoke commissions and customer enquiries
  • Packing and dispatching online orders
  • Managing stock levels and replenishment
  • Cash handling and processing payments
  • Liaising between the workshop and shop floor
  • Assisting with benchwork and customer repairs, including waxwork, cleaning, polishing and sizing
  • Working with 3D printing, including designing, setting up and operating the printer (training provided if needed)
  • Designing and setting up shop window displays and in-store layouts
  • Photographing jewellery and creating video content for Instagram Reels and other social platforms
  • Editing and assisting with short-form video and visual content for social media

You will be encouraged to research designs, collections and ongoing work via both brands’ Instagram accounts:
@rosmillar and @kasunlondon

Skills and Experience Required

Benchwork & Technical Skills

You should be confident in waxwork and basic metalwork skills, including:

  • Wax carving, shaping and preparation for casting
  • Cleaning and polishing jewellery
  • Ring sizing and minor adjustments

3D printing experience is a bonus, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Stone setting is not essential but would be welcomed.

About You

  • A genuine interest in jewellery, making and design
  • Previous retail or customer-facing experience
  • Confident, friendly and professional with customers
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Strong attention to detail and organisation
  • Comfortable photographing work and creating short-form video content (phone-based is absolutely fine)
  • Comfortable moving between creative, practical and customer-focused tasks

If you have a particular skill set you feel strong in — whether that’s benchwork, 3D printing, design, visual merchandising, photography, video or content creation — Ros and Kas are keen to see this and explore how it could be showcased within the role.

Why This Role?

This is a rare opportunity to work closely with two established independent jewellers in a supportive, creative environment. The role offers flexibility, variety and hands-on experience across retail, workshop and digital platforms — ideal for someone balancing employment with their own jewellery practice.
