Main Duties
Mobile device exterior design include:
- Physical ergonomics and form factor, includes shape, size, and placement of buttons, screen, and camera
- Material selection and phone casing finish
- Colour and texture
- Brand identity
- Packaging
This role works closely with engineer, product manager, and marketing team to ensure design is aligned with technical specification, market trends, and company branding.
Skills and Experience Required
- Strong Design Skills: Proficiency in sketching and 3D modelling.
- Creativity and Innovation: Ability to generate unique and compelling designs.
- Technical Understanding: Familiar with technical aspects of mobile phone design, including materials, components, and manufacturing constraints.
- Communication and Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with engineers and product manager.
- Knowledge of Design Trends: Awareness of current and emerging design trends in the mobile phone industry.
