Main Duties

Duties of the Role

We are looking for a technical expert with a Lighting and AV bias to support the school’s visual and technical output. The role is biased in responsibility for supervising, designing and delivering Lighting, with occasional AV/Multi Media integration, with a supportive role in Sound delivery on an ad hoc basis, across a dynamic range of productions, including established texts, devised work, student-led festivals, Christmas shows, and other ancillary projects within the department. The role will be expected to act as a technical lead within the department, demonstrating a bias towards Lighting and AV, supplementing the skills existing within the department. The role will be expected to work across a range of venues, mentoring students within all the specialisms above, and will help to support learning across East 15’s technical teaching provision.This full-time role will be based in Loughton (Central Line) and will require travel to other venues/locations as required for project delivery, these are typically Central London but may be in the Greater Essex area.There may be occasional (infrequent) support required for the Southend Campus on an ad hoc basis.

Skills and qualifications required.

Experience of professional theatre working environments is essential, and previous work within an educational setting is desirable. The candidate will have relevant professional links and strong organisational skills, as well as technical knowledge to support the maintenance and upkeep of equipment. The right candidate should have a hands-on ability and experience in rigging, electrics, projection, lighting consoles, digital mixers, and other hardware to support the role
