Main Duties

Our small company has been organically growing since it was founded in 2008, making bespoke, hand-crafted globes for a global market. Combining traditional techniques with high quality modern materials, we create unique works of art which will be held onto for a lifetime. As such, our small team of craftspeople are trained in-house and held to high standards in the specific skills of globe-making, globe-painting, digital cartography and base/table construction, depending on their role.

We are looking for a skilled wood-turner to make our ‘Albion series’ bases.

As this role is studio-based, you must live in London and be able to commute to Stoke Newington. Working hours are 09:00-17:30 Mon-Fri.

As a Woodworker in our workshop we expect you to:

  1. Have a great eye for detail, demonstrating a high level of perfectionism in your own work.
  2. Feel comfortable in the workshop environment and using a variety of shop floor machinery; including but not limited to: lathe and orbital sanders.
  3. Be able to take feedback about quality of work and direction from your team leader.
  4. Work to deadlines and manage your time accordingly.
  5. Keep a constant flow of communication regarding your work progress with relevant team members.
  6. To hold yourself accountable and practice good work ethics with your peers and management.

Skills and Experience Required

Day to day duties include:

  1. Turning wooden bases to a high standard of finish.
  2. Organising / tidying workshop and studio
