Freelance Typeface Designer – Atterbury Flat

Main Duties

• Design and develop a bespoke, modular display typeface for Atterbury Flat

• Collaborate closely with the Atterbury Flat team (Zoë, Abi and Bee) through a co-design process

• Translate architectural and spatial references into functional letterforms

• Produce a complete, installable font suitable for long-term use

• Ensure the typeface performs effectively across both print and digital contexts

• Deliver final font files ready for installation and use across Adobe Creative Cloud

Skills and Experience Required

• Experience in typeface design

• Ability to design modular, block-based letterforms with graphic flexibility

• Understanding of how type functions as both text and visual identity

• Experience delivering fully functional font files (.OTF or .TTF)

• Confidence working collaboratively and responding to creative direction

• Sensitivity to designing type that complements rich visual and spatial environments

• Familiarity with print and digital production considerations
