Main Duties

We are seeking a visionary Freelance Fashion Designer with a passion for mid-century aesthetics and a technical eye for detail. In this role, you will act as a guardian of the Collectif London style, blending 20th-century nostalgia with 21st-century functionality. You will be responsible for the end-to-end design process—from archival research and original print development to the creation of production-ready tech packs. The ideal candidate is a ‘technical creative’ who understands that a perfect vintage look relies as much on expert tailoring and garment construction as it does on a beautiful print.

Skills and Experience Required

We are looking for a middleweight to senior-level freelance designer who possesses a substantial experience and a proven track record of accomplishment in the vintage-inspired fashion sector. The ideal candidate will be a ‘technical creative’—someone who is as comfortable researching the drape of a 1940s tea dress as they are building a precise, modern tech pack in Adobe Illustrator. We value applicants who demonstrate a genuine passion for the ‘Alternative’ scene and who can show a portfolio that balances historical authenticity with modern-day wearability. You must be a self-starter with a meticulous eye for detail and the ability to hit the ground running on seasonal collections.

Equal Opportunities Statement

We are an Equal Opportunities Employer and welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds, regardless of their race, disability, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion and belief, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity and caring responsibility. We are committed to offering a working environment where everyone is valued and feels appreciated.
