Main Duties

S.S.DALEY is seeking a freelance draper / pattern cutter to support development of several sculptural outerwear looks for an upcoming show.

The role involves working directly on the stand to develop volume and silhouette before translating these into patterns for sampling.

We are particularly interested in freelancers with experience in:

• draping
• outerwear development
• technical fabrics

London-based freelancers preferred.

Freelance / project-based over the coming weeks.

Skills and Experience Required

Ideal candidate:

  • Middleweight-level industry experience in draping and pattern cutting within luxury womenswear and menswear or show environments.
  • Strong ability to develop sculptural silhouettes directly on the stand and translate drapes into accurate patterns for sampling.
  • Preferably proven experience in outerwear development, including complex construction and volume-led shapes.
  • Confident working with technical and structured fabrics, understanding their behaviour in relation to shape and movement.
  • Proven experience translating draped forms into precise, production-ready patterns.
  • Skilled in refining proportion, construction and silhouettes through fittings and hands-on studio collaboration.
  • Detail-driven, adaptable, and comfortable working to focused show timelines.
