Footwear Production & Design Assistant

Main Duties

·       Pre-track work: may include insole preparing, sewing/machine work, skiving, cutting and closing etc.

·       Track work: may include back-moulding/other machine work, heel unit preparing, gluing

·       Research, design & development of new products/ranges – will include sampling, sourcing/selecting fabrics etc.

·       Support the team in the production of bespoke footwear

·       Ad-hoc projects which may include sizing/measurements work, product specifications

·       May be tasked with working on shoe costings, material/components stock takes/ordering, material sourcing/ordering

·       Other opportunities within the business may also be presented to you as you learn and develop within the business

Skills and Experience Required

·       Experience in shoe design/production and/or studying for a relevant degree

·      An interest in fashion/footwear is important, with experience in the industry desirable but not essential

·       GCSE’s & A-Levels (or equivalent) are essential, and a degree is desirable
