Main Duties

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Fashion Assistant to join our editorial team. The ideal candidate will support the fashion department across photoshoots, styling, and content production, ensuring seamless coordination and creative excellence across both print and digital projects.

Photoshoot Coordination:

  • Organize/coordinate photoshoots: e.g. booking locations, models, and photographers.
  • Assist with the selection and procurement of clothing, accessories, and props for shoots.
  • Manage samples: e.g. tracking incoming and outgoing fashion items and their timely return.
  • Develop moodboards, research potential styling themes, and connect with potential collaborators/creative teams.
  • Ensure that all retouched imagery meets print requirements (in format and aesthetics).  

Styling Assistance:

  • Work closely with stylists to prepare outfits for photoshoots and editorial spreads.
  • Assist on set during photoshoots, only if shoots are local, and as required only
  • Provide creative input and suggestions during styling sessions.

Content Support:

  • Assist in the research, writing, and editing of articles, features.
  • Fact-check information of all published content.
  • Coordinate with freelance writers, photographers, and other contributors.
  • Assist in the closing of the print magazine each month.

Administrative Tasks

  • Manage the editorial calendar and schedule meetings.
  • Organize and maintain the digital and physical filing systems.
  • Handle correspondence, including reader inquiries and interdepartmental communication.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of fashion samples, i.e. cataloguing and storing.
  • Schedule appointments and manage calendars for fashion editors.
  • Handle correspondence with PR agencies, designers, and showrooms.

Event Coordination

  • Support the planning and execution of magazine events, launches, and fashion shows.
  • Assist in coordinating travel arrangements and itineraries for editorial staff and contributors.
  • Attend local, regional events and projects on behalf of the magazine.

Market Research:

  • Stay updated with the latest fashion trends, news, and industry developments.
  • Conduct competitor analysis and report on market trends.

Editorial Support:

  • Assist fashion editors in the planning and execution of fashion stories and features.
  • Conduct research on fashion trends, designers, and new collections to support editorial content.
  • Prepare mood boards, style guides, and concept presentations.
  • Picture research and editing.

Digital and Social Media Support:

  • Coordinating and finalising any video shoots connected to print deliverables outside of the UAE
  • Supporting any video content requirements based in the UK

Skills and Experience Required

  • Experience in photoshoot preparation and sample management
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Knowledge of fashion trends, designers, and styling principles
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop and InDesign)
  • Strong research, writing, and editing skills
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Professional presentation and familiarity with luxury fashion brands
  • Flexibility to attend events and assist on set when required
  • A proactive, creative, and collaborative attitude
  • Must be currently based either in London or in Dubai
