Main Duties
Account Direction / Client Relations
- Project management
- Planning developing and implementing strategy – formulating campaigns, copywriting and brand strategies
- Conceive, develop and implement client account strategies
- Oversee campaign timelines and schedules for distributing press materials
- Writing and editing releases etc.
- Monitor level of client service
- Oversee client reports in collaboration with account manager / executive
- Deal with or delegate press requests
- Attend client meetings and ensuring clients are aware of pending and achieved press on publication
- Media training for clients – preparation for interviews and discussion of interview strategy
- Work with clients to assess issues, develop recommendations and implement business improvement processes
- Work with clients to identify potential alliances and partnerships
- Develop crisis comms guides and supports company directors with crisis responses
Media Relations
- Face to face press appointments with press
- Pitching / journalist follow-up of send outs
- Develop and maintain good working relations with the media
- Be abreast of new media developments including new publications and social media
New Business
- Lead on the creation of proposals where relevant
- Actively take responsibility for seeking new business
- Develop ideas for business development and brand partnerships
- New business/representing the agency through networking
- Attending new business meetings and reviews
Team And Line Management
- Manage the junior team – providing training, guidance and motivation on the accounts you are director for
- Brief the team on clients’ campaign strategies
- Management of team on admin connected with running accounts and priorities
- Monitor all aspects of your teams work on the accounts. Ensure they are on message.
- Instigate meetings to discuss clients / brainstorming / campaign ideas
- Manage staffing, professional development, and mentorship of assigned account teams
- Play an active part
- Line manage your direct reports
Skills and Experience Required
This is an opportunity for an ambitious individual who has already made their mark on the industry to work in collaboration with the company directors and be a driving force in client and team management. The candidate must have a strong experience of managing high-level arts PR campaigns and be an exceptional thinker who will bring in real expertise to the company. The job requires a team player who is highly organised in their approach, has an excellent understanding of the media with strong contacts, and a track record in establishing client relationships and delivering brilliant results.
A proven track record in PR management and an ability to train, guide and motivate a team made up of executives is essential. A passion for visual arts and in-depth knowledge of copywriting and brand strategies is required. Must have a demonstrable ability to devise, administer and evaluate media campaigns. Energy and enthusiasm are of paramount importance as the culture of the agency is fast-paced and ambitious. We work internationally so are always looking for additional languages.
