Entry-Level Maker role joining a busy fashion design atelier

Main Duties

If you’re passionate about great design, craftsmanship, and sustainability – and want to be part of a growing, creative team – this fantastic maker role is for you.

Grace Lane London in hiring two makers for a 2-month project to create a production run of custom bags.

You’ll bring creative ideas to life – turning concepts into high-quality, commercially viable products. This role will involve collaborating with Grace and her team and working hands-on in the atelier in central london making the products to the highest standard.  you’ll play a key role in every stage of development, from prototype to production.

The Role

  • Develop and refine the prototypes with Grace and the team.
  • Cutting out and marking up the ready for production
  • Machining the products to the highest standard
  • Commuting daily to central London SE1 9PH
  • Full time, Monday to Friday for 2 months
  • 8am – 6pm hourly rate £14.80 / £148 per day
  • Start ASAP
  • The project delivery is in January with a 10 day unpaid break for Christmas

Skills and Experience Required

Ideal candidate:

You’re highly organised, proactive, and thrive in a fast-paced creative environment.  You’re a natural problem-solver, take pride in keeping things tidy and efficient, and are passionate about the intersection of fashion, design and craftsmanship.

  • Must have previous entry-level industry experience in fashion or bespoke tailoring
  • Sewing and cutting skills
  • Confident using a sewing machine
  • Reliable, organised eager to learn, and a good communicator
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Team player
