Main Duties
At Modo Energy, we’re building the global standard for benchmarking and valuing the world’s electrification assets – batteries, solar, wind, and data centres. Our mission is to make the energy transition understandable and we believe great design is a core part of that mission. We want to make complex information feel simple, elegant, and a joy to use – the kind of experience you’d expect from Notion, Clay, or Linear. This role is central to bringing that vision to life.
The Role
We are looking for a visually exceptional Designer to help elevate the look and feel of Modo Energy’s platform. This is not a UX researcher role – we are looking for someone with strong graphic design sensibilities, a keen eye for detail, and an ability to craft smooth, modern interfaces.
You might be a recent graduate in Graphic Design, or an early-career designer with a strong portfolio of digital work. Most importantly, you are an artist at heart who wants to apply your craft to intuitive UI and digital interfaces.
You don’t need prior energy or SaaS experience – just creative flair, Figma mastery, and curiosity to learn about the world of BESS, solar, and wind so that you understand what you’re designing.
Responsibilities
- Create polished, visually engaging digital interfaces that make complex energy information simple and beautiful.
- Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to bring our design vision to life across dashboards, content pages, and new features.
- Develop and maintain visual systems – typography, colour, iconography, layout, motion – that give Modo a distinctive design style.
- Translate high-level ideas into clean, modern UI using Figma, ensuring consistency across the platform.
- Produce visual assets such as illustrations, charts, components, and prototypes to support product development.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to continuously improve the visual quality of our interface, focusing primarily on look, feel, clarity, and visual storytelling.
- Bring fresh ideas and inspiration to the team – from design trends to component styling, interaction patterns, and visual experiments.
Important Details
- We are an in-person company that values collaboration and team culture. Everyone works in the office Tuesday through Thursday, with flexibility to work from home or the office on Mondays and Fridays.
- Modo Energy offers a competitive salary, potentially life-changing equity package, and top-of-market benefits.
- Modo Energy is an equal opportunity employer. Our employment decisions are based on qualifications, merit, and business need. We do not discriminate based on age, national origin, disability, race, religion, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
