Calligraphy Artist

Main Duties

  • Create custom name tags for event guests using hand-drawn calligraphy.
  • Produce on-the-spot personalised lettering and illustrations on various materials, including card and wood.
  • Engage professionally with guests to understand name spellings or design preferences.
  • Maintain a consistent, high-quality standard of calligraphy throughout the event.
  • Manage time efficiently to ensure timely completion of individual pieces during live interaction.
  • Set up and manage a small workstation within the office reception area, keeping it tidy and presentable throughout.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Current or previous UAL/St Martin’s student
  • Comfortable working live in front of guests, with the ability to personalise items quickly and accurately.
  • Experience with a range of calligraphy tools and surfaces (e.g. card, wood, signage).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, aesthetically pleasing work.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; confident engaging with event attendees in a professional setting.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
