Book Designer (Cover, Typography & Endpapers)

Main Duties

I’m looking for a talented book designer to help bring my next book to life — a petite, premium memoir edition. The tone is warm, elegant, and intimate — inspired by Parisian style, small spaces, and big dreams.

What I need:

• Design a front cover using my existing hand-drawn illustrations and creative direction.
• Create interior typography and layout for a flexibound or hardcover edition (approx. 330 pages).
• Design illustrated endpapers from supplied artwork.
• Prepare print-ready files and liaise confidently with printers to ensure correct specs, colour profiles, and formats for proofs and production.

Skills and Experience Required

• Have proven book design experience, ideally in lifestyle, memoir, or illustrated titles.
• Be confident working with printers and production requirements, including cloth covers, foil detailing, and belly bands.
• Have a strong eye for typography, composition, and narrative design.
• Be detail-oriented and comfortable working independently on a defined brief.
