Main Duties

Tutoring with Big Fish Tutors gives you the opportunity to: • work for a company which provides a leading standard in education for out of school settings • improve your communication through building meaningful relationships with students, parents and other inspiring tutors • deliver lessons that change mindset and attitude in children’s learning so that you can make the difference you really set out to make • become a leader in delivering the National Curriculum standard in key Science skills. Tutors are required to: • have strong knowledge of GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics • deliver active lessons using a whiteboard in a classroom setting. Materials and workbooks are available for group and one-to-one lessons • mark homework • provide feedback to parents about their children’s progress • inspire children through positive criticism Person Specification The ideal applicant will be: • confident, energetic, approachable, a good communicator • someone who takes initiative • good at multitasking • someone who is punctual and reliable • able to work under pressure and towards set deadlines • able to teach new concepts in a fun and engaging way • able to keep students interested and focused • passionate about teaching • UK GCSEs with minimum grade 8 or equivalent for Science • Must have at least one Science A Level • Preferably doing a Science degree • Must be an undergraduate or graduate
