Main Duties
Gillian McVey is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Press Intern for 6 months. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, ambitious individual who is passionate about fashion, the arts, and contemporary culture.
Gillian McVey is a London-based PR agency that specialises in visual arts, design, culture, luxury, and fashion.
Responsibilities, Tasks, Skills
The Press Intern role is an entry level public relations position, and the successful candidate will work closely with the PR Team on the LANVIN account. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Sample trafficking using both local and international courier services
- Updating the press contact database
- Compile weekly, monthly, and project-based press reports
- Maintain UK calendar to ensure it is up to date with relevant industry events
- General press office management
- Supporting the PR Team on seasonal events and projects
Key Attributes:
- Available to start immediately
- The candidate should have strong communication skills, research, and organisational skills
- Be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic
- Accomplishes tasks accurately, thoroughly and with a keen eye for detail
- Must be efficient in Gmail, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word programmes
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
Essential Qualifications
- Previous internship experience working in fashion, arts, design, and culture either in-house or within an agency
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail
- Determined, proactive, and works well under pressure

- Gain first-hand experience of how a professional London PR agency operates within fashion, design and culture
- Learn the full process of sample trafficking, including organising local and international couriers
- Understand how to manage and update press contact databases accurately and efficiently
- Develop skills in compiling weekly, monthly and project-based press reports
- Learn to maintain and coordinate industry calendars and key event schedules
- Support the PR team with seasonal events, launches and client projects
- Build practical knowledge of general press office management and daily operations
- Experience working on a high-profile luxury account such as LANVIN
- Strengthen organisational and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment
- Improve written and verbal communication through daily interaction with press and team members
- Learn how to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Develop a strong attention to detail and professional working standards
