What will the internship offer the student and what will they learn while they are with you? E.g. skills they could learn/develop and experience they could gain.
This internship will provide students with a well-rounded and supportive introduction to the fashion industry, offering both practical experience and structured learning opportunities. Interns will work closely with the Design Manager, Divisional Manager, and the wider design team, gaining insight into the full product development lifecycle within a global organisation.
During their time with the company, interns will develop a strong foundation in fashion design and product development. They will build valuable skills in trend research, learning how to identify, analyse, and translate current trends into commercially viable designs tailored to different customers, across ladieswear and childrenswear categories. They will also gain hands-on experience supporting the creation and development of product ranges, helping them understand how ideas evolve from concept to final product.
The internship will also strengthen technical and digital skills, including the use of industry-relevant tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office. In addition, interns will be encouraged and supported to explore and apply AI tools to enhance productivity and creativity in their daily tasks.
Interns will gain exposure to professional communication and collaboration, working with internal teams as well as external partners, including customers and international suppliers across Europe and the Far East. This will help them build confidence in communicating effectively in a professional environment and understanding global supply chain processes.
Alongside creative and technical development, interns will enhance key transferable skills such as organisation, time management, and the ability to work to tight deadlines. Through involvement in tasks like preparing for customer meetings and handling administrative responsibilities, they will learn how to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Most importantly, interns will be supported throughout their placement with guidance, feedback, and mentorship from experienced team members. This ensures they not only contribute to real projects but also continuously learn, reflect, and grow. By the end of the internship, students will have developed a strong base of product knowledge, industry awareness, and practical experience, helping to prepare them for a successful career in the fashion industry.
