Main Duties
As a Design Intern at COS, you will collaborate closely with our dynamic design team, contributing to the evolution of our brand aesthetics. Your role involves researching current trends, generating innovative ideas suitable for COS aesthetics, and translating them into clear and detailed technical sketches. In addition, you will provide valuable support in the creation of design boards, playing a key part in the overall design process. We are looking for two design interns, one within our womenswear team and one within menswear, if you have a preference please indicate it clearly on your application.

What you will do:
- Research thoroughly for trends and details, and suggest new ideas suitable for the COS aesthetics.
- Produce clear and detailed technical sketches using Adobe Illustrator and update as needed.
- Update the collection overviews and assist with color ups.
- Assist in sourcing and developing materials and trimmings.
- Collectively with the team, identify new selling opportunities by monitoring sale trends.
- Support in organizing fabrics and keeping selections up to date.
- Photograph and log any research or inspiration samples bought.
- Support in creating design boards that show the designers’ direction and vision.
- Work creatively with the design team. Drape on the mannequin, customize garments, and stitch toiles.

In addition to our values for this role we are also looking for:
- A certifiable qualification in Fashion Design or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in technical drawing and design using Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Confident in sewing and constructing detailed samples with precision.
- Strong awareness of current fashion trends and the wider design landscape.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Clear and confident communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A collaborative team player with a positive, proactive attitude and a willingness to learn

- Gain an understanding of the design and product development process from concept to final production within a high-end high street brand.
- Develop technical knowledge across multiple product categories: Wovens, Knitwear, and Jersey.
- Learn about fabric development, including composition, sustainability, and price.
- Learn how to champion sustainability and uphold high-quality standards.
- Experience how to collaborate with Buying and Pattern teams
