Main Duties

  • Assist in the day-to-day running of W.Rubens across design, operations, and brand development
  • Support the creative direction of the brand, contributing ideas for campaigns, styling, and visual storytelling
  • Conduct research into fabrics, trims, suppliers, and emerging designers to support product development
  • Assist with the design process, including sketching, mood boards, and preparation of tech packs where required
  • Support sample development, fittings, and communication with machinists, pattern cutters, and manufacturers
  • Help organise and manage photoshoots, including casting, styling, sourcing, and on-set assistance
  • Assist in content creation across social media, including filming, editing, and posting in line with brand identity
  • Contribute to storytelling and copywriting across Instagram, email campaigns, and brand materials
  • Support e-commerce operations, including product uploads, descriptions, and inventory management
  • Assist with client relations, including personal styling preparation, sourcing pieces, and maintaining high service standards
  • Help manage brand partnerships, collaborations, and influencer outreach
  • Conduct competitor and market analysis, identifying opportunities within the luxury and contemporary fashion space
  • Provide general administrative and operational support to ensure smooth day-to-day running of the business
  • Take ownership of individual projects, from concept through to execution, with guidance from the founder

What will the internship offer the student and what will they learn while they are with you? E.g. skills they could learn/develop and experience they could gain.

This internship offers a highly immersive, hands-on experience within an emerging luxury fashion brand. The student will work directly alongside the Founder and Creative Director of W.Rubens, as well as a former Design Director from Casablanca, gaining rare insight into both the creative and operational sides of building a contemporary fashion label.

The intern will be based in a working studio environment in Hackney, East London, and will be closely involved in the day-to-day running of the brand. This is a mentorship-led experience, where the student will receive direct guidance, feedback, and exposure to real business decisions, processes, and creative development.

Throughout the internship, the student will develop skills and gain experience in the following areas:

  • Understanding how a luxury fashion brand is built and operated from the ground up
  • Supporting creative direction, including contributing ideas for campaigns, styling, and visual storytelling
  • Researching fabrics, trims, suppliers, and emerging designers to inform product development
  • Assisting in the design process, including sketching, mood boards, and preparation of technical packs
  • Gaining hands-on experience in sample development, fittings, and communication with machinists, pattern cutters, and manufacturers
  • Supporting the planning and execution of photoshoots, including casting, styling, sourcing, and on-set assistance
  • Developing content creation skills across social media, including filming, editing, and publishing aligned with brand identity
  • Contributing to brand storytelling and copywriting across Instagram, email campaigns, and other brand materials
  • Understanding e-commerce operations, including product uploads, product descriptions, and inventory management
  • Supporting client relations and personal styling preparation, gaining exposure to high-level service standards
  • Assisting with brand partnerships, collaborations, and influencer outreach
  • Conducting competitor and market analysis within the luxury and contemporary fashion space
  • Developing organisational and operational skills through general administrative support
  • Taking ownership of individual projects from concept to execution, with ongoing mentorship and feedback
