We are looking for a Fashion Design student/graduate who is passionate about research, craftsmanship, and thoughtful design development to join the team at JOAO MARASCHIN. The ideal candidate is technically skilled and confident in pattern cutting, sewing, and creating technical packages, with a strong understanding of garment construction and attention to detail. We value someone who is responsible, highly organised, proactive, and eager to contribute across both creative and development processes. Curiosity, initiative, and a genuine passion for contemporary fashion and artisanal practices are essential.
About us
JOAO MARASCHIN is an independent fashion brand founded by Brazilian designer Joao Maraschin, known for redefining luxury through craftsmanship, sustainability, and social impact. Rooted in artisanal techniques and circular design practices, the brand collaborates closely with local makers and communities to create collections that blend contemporary silhouettes with hand-crafted detail. With an emphasis on transparency, innovation, and human connection, JOAO MARASCHIN has gained international recognition for its thoughtful approach to fashion where creativity, knowledge, responsibility, and storytelling exist in equal measure.
What will the internship offer the student and what will they learn while they are with you? E.g. skills they could learn/develop and experience they could gain.
During the internship, the candidate will gain hands-on experience across the full creative and development process of an independent fashion brand, working closely with the team at JOAO MARASCHIN. They will deepen their technical skills in pattern cutting, sewing, sampling, and garment development, while also learning about research methodologies, prototyping, textile experimentation, and collection building. The internship will provide insight into the day-to-day operations of a small fashion studio, including critical path management, production processes, organisation, and logistics. The candidate will also develop a stronger understanding of artisanal practices, sustainable design approaches, and collaborative creative workflows.
