- Build moodboards, references, image research and visual exploration for new projects
- Prepare artwork files for print and digital, including basic packaging mock-ups
- Contribute to illustration tasks and pattern / asset libraries
- Assist in building client decks, presentations and project write-ups

We’re looking for someone curious, organised and quietly ambitious, with a love of how design, culture and narrative meet on the page or screen. You don’t need years of experience — we’re more interested in how you think and the questions you ask.
This role would suit a current student or recent graduate of any UAL Graphic Design programme, though applicants from related courses (illustration, communication design, design management, media design, graphic communication) are warmly welcomed.
Essential:
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). We’ll help you deepen what’s already there.
- A clear interest in brand and visual identity, with an eye for typography and craft.
- Good communication — able to ask questions, take feedback and try things.
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with Figma.
- An interest in cultural narrative, research-led work, or projects with social or cultural depth.
- Spanish, French or another language — we often work cross-culturally.
- A side interest in illustration, motion or packaging.
We will work with the successful applicant to shape hours and ways of working that fit alongside your life.
About us
Bir0 (also styled bir0.me) is a culture-led design studio based in London, founded in 2020. The name is a nod to the Argentine invention that turned everyday writing into possibility. We work across creative direction, strategy and design — building brand identities, packaging, illustration, websites and editorial work for clients ranging from cultural institutions to early-stage product brands.
Recent and ongoing collaborators include the Institut Pour La Paix, Collective Earth Stories and Bajan Beauty Balm, alongside project work spanning Spotify and Amazon. Our work is rooted in narrative, craft and context — we research, question and trace cultural threads before putting pen to paper.
We’re a small, warm and conversational studio. We work in English, Spanish and French, and across print, digital, experiential and illustration. Our process is collaborative and considered, with room for experimentation and a strong respect for craft. We see the studio as a place to learn, and our intern is a real part of the team for the duration.

What will the internship offer the student and what will they learn while they are with you? E.g. skills they could learn/develop and experience they could gain.
Bir0 is an independent, culture-led studio, so our interns sit close to live work from day one. Across 150 hours you will learn how a project travels from research to a finished identity, campaign or printed piece, and grow your own craft alongside ours.
- Develop your craft across brand, illustration, packaging and digital design, with hands-on feedback in weekly 1:1s with the founder.
- Learn our research and discovery process — tracing cultural and narrative threads before a single pen mark.
- Sit in on real client conversations and see how briefs, feedback and timelines are navigated.
- Build confidence in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Figma through live deliverables.
- Get exposure to production: prepping artwork for print, packaging mock-ups, exporting assets for social.
- Receive mentoring on portfolio direction, studio life, and how to build an early-career creative practice with intention.
