What will the internship offer the student and what will they learn while they are with you? E.g. skills they could learn/develop and experience they could gain.
The internship will offer the intern a structured, hands‑on learning experience within a design and production studio, providing insight into how a contemporary fashion brand operates from concept through to finished product.
The intern will be supported by the design and production team and will receive training, guidance, and regular feedback throughout the placement. The role is designed to build practical skills while developing a clear understanding of industry processes.
During the internship, the intern will learn about the design development and production workflow, including assisting with tech packs, sample development, fittings, and garment reviews. They will gain exposure to fabric and trim selection, garment construction, and how design decisions affect cost, lead times, and manufacturing.
The intern will also support production coordination, helping to track samples, understand timelines, and observe communication with manufacturers and suppliers. Through this, they will develop skills in organisation, attention to detail, problem‑solving, and professional communication.
Working closely within the studio environment allows the intern to ask questions, observe processes firsthand, and gradually take on more responsibility as their confidence grows. Overall, the internship provides a supportive, learning‑focused experience that prepares the intern for a future career in fashion design and production.
