Artichoke is one of the UK's leading creative companies and a registered charity, funded by Arts Council England. The company works with the best creative minds and aims to produce extraordinary shows that live in the memory forever.Our past productions have included Royal de Luxe's The Sultan's Elephant, which filled the streets of London for four days in 2006; La Machine's 50-foot high mechanical spider for Liverpool's Capital of Culture celebrations in 2008; Antony Gormley's 100-day long invasion of the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square in London, One & Other; Peace Camp, a sound and light installation created by Deborah Warner for the London 2012 Festival; Lumiere, the UK's largest light festival that transformed Durham in 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2017, Derry-Londonderry in 2013, as the finale event for the UK City of Culture Programme, and London in 2016 and 2018. Most recently, Artichoke produced PROCESSIONS, a huge living art piece of thousands of women processions through the streets of Edinburgh, Cardiff, Dublin and London, in Commemoration of the centenary of women's suffrage. We have a small core team of 15 and more project staff and consultants. Together we produce large and complex projects supported by a wide range of stakeholders and funders.
