The London Embroidery Studio

Company Profile

The London Embroidery Studio delivers complex technical hand and machine embroidery production, offering consultation assistance in developing and specifying designs. The team’s embroidery know-how is used by leading international fashion and textile designers, with recent clients including Louis Vuitton, ACNE Studios, JW Anderson, Edward Crutchley & Victoria Beckham. They have also helped to create bespoke embroidery solutions for fine artists such as Hew Locke and Kirsty Macleod. The Studio is led by design-practitioners with a wealth of fashion industry experience. Their cohort of freelance embroidery consultants, class tutors and core studio team each balance their own embroidery-led design practices with studio-work. Being a research-led enterprise allows the studio to remain at the forefront of embroidery innovation and informs its offer of the broadest range of skills and creative approaches to its clients and students. Unlike traditional CAD embroidery machines, the studio’s bank of TAJIMA machines can mix regular lockstitch embroidery with digital chain and moss Cornely, cording and sequinning. Unique to the UK, this allows them to produce large-scale, complex work quickly and cost-effectively. Their continued investment in technology enables the London Embroidery Studio to remain one of the few companies still producing embroidery for fashion solely within the UK. This year, for the first time, The london Embroidery Studio exhibited at Maison D’Exception in Premiere Vision’s Hall 3. Attended by Director Andrew Kenny, Production Manager, Lucie McKenna and Hand Embroiderer, Alice Richardson, showing the breadth of their creativity and technical know-how.
