Yanaa is a Franco-British sports food company creating real, savoury nutrition for athletes who don’t want to eat like astronauts. Born from a shared frustration with ultra-processed sports nutrition, Yanaa exists to challenge the idea that performance requires synthetic, joyless fuel. Today’s sports food often treats the human body like a machine — optimised for convenience and profit, disconnected from real ingredients, pleasure, and long-term health. Yanaa offers an alternative: chef-crafted food that fuels performance while keeping athletes human. All Yanaa products are made from 100% organic, plant-based ingredients, with a strong focus on local pulses such as lentils, chickpeas, beans and quinoa. Recipes are cooked by chefs in Provence, developed in collaboration with sports nutrition science, and designed to provide stable energy, digestive comfort, and real enjoyment before, during, or after endurance efforts. Yanaa sits at the intersection of food, sport, culture and ecology. The brand draws inspiration from traditional endurance diets, outdoor cultures, and ecological thinking, while grounding its products in contemporary research on metabolism, gut health, and sustained performance. The result is sports nutrition that is savoury, satisfying, and culturally rooted — not sugary, sterile, or space-age. The name Yanaa stands for “You Are Not An Astronaut” - a reminder that athletes are humans first. Humans who eat, feel, enjoy, adapt, and belong to living systems. Founded in Annecy by a regenerative designer and a former professional athlete turned nutritionist-chef, Yanaa is committed to reshaping sports nutrition from the inside - one pouch, one recipe, and one shared meal at a time.
