About us

At Margene, our collections are crafted from luxury deadstock and artisanal fabrics sourced from British mills – designed with a keen eye for detail and an unwavering commitment to longevity.

Our approach is rooted in tradition, inspired by the tailoring heritage of India and Savile Row, where extra seam allowances are built into garments to allow for subtle changes over time. We’re bringing this philosophy into the present – redefining what it means to invest in clothing while uniting a network of artisans who share our vision for thoughtful, enduring fashion.

What will the internship offer the student and what will they learn while they are with you? E.g. skills they could learn/develop and experience they could gain.

The Margene internship offers students an immersive learning experience within a founder-led, early-stage fashion brand. Interns will gain hands-on exposure to the entire lifecycle of product creation — from concept development and fabric sourcing to sampling, fitting, and production.

You will work directly with the founders, receiving structured mentorship, regular feedback, and tailored guidance throughout their time with us. Key skills developed will include technical garment knowledge, market research, creative problem-solving, and project coordination.

With both founders having experience at brands such as Burberry, Phoebe Philo, JW Anderson, and Margaret Howell, students will benefit from real industry insights and best practices. This internship bridges academic learning with real-world experience, preparing students for a professional career in fashion with a strong understanding of both design and operations.

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented design student with a strong interest in fashion and luxury. Skills in Adobe Illustrator, technical drawing, garment construction, and fabric knowledge would be beneficial. This role would suit someone passionate about high-quality craftsmanship, sustainability, and learning how a product moves from concept to final delivery. A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong organisational skills are essential.
