Description
Stonewall Housing are launching an emergency fundraising appeal to secure critical income as Pride donations shift and we need a talented, passionate designer to help us tell that story visually. We’re a small but mighty team and we don’t have the design skills to make this campaign as impactful as it deserves to be. That’s where your skills could make a real difference.
Commitment: Flexible, approximately 4 hours over 2 weeks starting June 1st.
Format: Remote
Main Duties
We would like 4 to 6 hours of your time. You can do it all in one go or break it into smaller chunks, whatever works for you. Work from our offices or remotely, totally your call.
The mission? Create 6 promotional assets for social media. We’ll give you a brief with the content and general direction, but we want you to have creative freedom to make something that really pops and gets people engaged.
What will the volunteering role offer the student and what will they learn while they are with you?
Portfolio-building assets – You’ll create 6 social media assets that you can proudly add to your portfolio. These will be live pieces of work used by three well known LGBTQ+ charities, so you’ll have tangible examples of your design making a difference.
Creative freedom with purpose – We’ll give you a brief and direction, but you’ll have the creative license to experiment and develop your own visual approach. It’s the perfect balance of guidance and independence.
Insight into the charity sector – You’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at how small charities run campaigns with limited resources, and how design plays a crucial role in advocacy and social change work.
Understanding of LGBTQ+ issues – You’ll develop knowledge housing rights which is valuable context if you’re interested in working with charities, social justice organizations, or purpose driven brands in the future.
Networking – You’ll be working with an established LGBTQ+ organization.
Plus, you’ll be helping create more inclusive spaces for some of the most vulnerable people in our community. That’s pretty meaningful work.
