Main Duties

AV Technician (Intermediate) — 2-Month Contract

Dates: May 7, 2026 – June 30, 2026

Reports to: Lead AV Specialist

Role

We’re hiring an intermediate-level AV Technician for a two-month project. You’ll prepare and run video and still-image projections in QLab, operate our projection hardware, and support our Lead AV Specialist across all audio-visual needs.

Responsibilities

• Build, program, and operate cues in QLab for video and still-image playback
• Set up, calibrate, and operate a Panasonic 1080p projector and a Barco 2K projector
• Assist with microphone setup, line checks, and live audio support
• Support the Lead AV Specialist with any other AV requirements that arise
• Troubleshoot quickly during rehearsals and performances; pack down safely at end of project

Engagement

Two-month contract running May 7 – June 30, 2026. Hours and rate to be confirmed based on production schedule.

Skills and Experience Required

Requirements

• Working proficiency in QLab (cue building, video playback, show file management)
• Hands-on experience with professional video projectors, ideally Panasonic and Barco
• Familiarity with wired and wireless microphone systems
• Middleweight industry experience in live event, theatre, or installation AV environments
• Reliable, calm under pressure, and comfortable taking direction from a lead
