Footwear & Leather Restoration Artisan

Main Duties

We are looking for a freelance artisan to assist with restoration work on luxury footwear and leather accessories.

Typical duties include:

• Leather restoration and recolouring on shoes and handbags

• Repairing scuffs, scratches and worn leather panels

• Edge repair and finishing on leather goods

• Handbag corner restoration and leather refinishing

• Basic footwear restoration including cleaning, conditioning and colour correction

• Assessing restoration requirements and suggesting repair approaches

• Maintaining high quality craftsmanship suitable for luxury items

Work will involve designer footwear, suede trainers, leather shoes and premium handbags.

Skills and Experience Required

We are looking for individuals with an interest in craftsmanship, restoration and working with premium materials.

Ideal candidates may have:

• Experience working with leather, textiles or footwear materials

• Knowledge of leather dyes, paints or restoration techniques

• A background in fashion, product design, leatherwork or textile design

• Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship

• An interest in sustainable fashion and extending the life of luxury goods

• Ability to work independently on restoration projects

Previous professional restoration experience is not essential for entry-level applicants, but a strong interest in craftsmanship is important.
