Freelance Jewellery Workshop Teacher (Part-Time)

Salary This is a freelance role. Fee to be negotiated based on market rate and level of experience.
Hours Freelance, part-time position working 3 days per week between Thursday and Sunday, including two full weekends per month. Workshops run twice daily between 10am and 6pm, and the teacher will be responsible for delivering sessions within this schedule.

Main Duties

  • Deliver engaging jewellery making workshops to groups of beginners, ensuring a fun, supportive and educational environment.
  • Teach a variety of jewellery techniques including hammered bands, wax carving and basic casting processes.
  • Guide participants through the jewellery making process while adapting to different skill levels.
  • Maintain high teaching standards to ensure consistency across all Ringsmiths workshop experiences.
  • Prepare and reset workstations before and after each workshop session.
  • Ensure tools, materials and refreshments are fully stocked and organised.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming studio environment for all participants.
  • Follow and uphold health and safety procedures within the workshop space.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues during workshops and assist participants where needed.
  • Represent The Ringsmiths brand by creating a friendly, inclusive and memorable workshop experience.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Substantial knowledge of jewellery making techniques and workshop practices with a proven track record of accomplishment.
  • Confidence presenting and speaking to groups in an engaging and clear way.
  • Strong communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to support and guide beginners with patience and empathy.
  • Adaptable teaching approach to accommodate different learning speeds and abilities.
  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills.
  • Calm and confident working under pressure in a busy workshop environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Positive, proactive and collaborative attitude.
  • Strong awareness of health and safety practices within a jewellery workshop environment.
