Freelance Hand Sewing – Tailoring Finisher Level (Atelier-Led Technique)

Salary Hourly rate, negotiated based on experience and skill level.

Main Duties

  • hand sewing on bespoke and one-off garments within an established atelier process
  • tailoring and finisher-level hand work
  • fabric manipulation requiring trained, precise hand skills
  • executing work according to studio-specific, tailor-based techniques
  • coordinating closely with the designer at each stage of the work
  • maintaining consistency, care, and finish quality across garments

Skills and Experience Required

  • solid experience in hand sewing for tailoring or garment finishing
  • confident handling and manipulation of fabric by hand
  • trained, precise, and reliable hand skills developed through tailoring practice
  • ability to apply existing craft skills within a studio-specific, tailor-based technique
  • comfort working within a creative, evolving process led by the designer
  • willingness to coordinate and check in at each stage of the work
  • strong attention to detail and respect for atelier standards of finish and care
  • clear communication and reliability in a studio environment
  • This role involves precise hand sewing on delicate fabrics. It requires good manual dexterity, steady hand control, close visual attention to detail, and the ability to remain seated and focused for extended periods while working carefully and consistently.
