Workroom Assistant and Production Machinist

Main Duties

The position will be a workroom assistant and production machinist working with the Head of Soft Hats at Stephen Jones Millinery.

You will be required to assist the head of department with the manufacture of high fashion hats, including both small batch runs and one-offs for private clients. The main functions are listed below. You will be cutting out material form existing patterns. You will be using an industrial machine to construct the hats. You will need hand sewing skills for details on pieces.

Skills and Experience Required

Expert skills in pattern cutting.

High competency with a flat bed industrial sewing machine.

Experience of working in a fast paced production environment

Experience of millinery is not required but would be a plus.

Workshop experience is desirable
