Salary
Paid at UK National Minimum Wage. Payment calculated hourly and paid for all hours worked.

Main Duties
- Prepare physical archival material for digitisation, including removing staples, clips, and bindings, and ensuring documents are correctly ordered and handled with care
- Digitise documents using specialist scanning or camera-based capture equipment, following provided guidelines for image quality, resolution, and file naming
- Carry out high-volume scanning accurately and efficiently while maintaining consistent quality standards
- Perform basic quality control checks on captured images (focus, alignment, completeness) and flag any issues to the project lead
- Organise, label, and manage digital files and external storage drives according to the project’s file structure
- Reassemble and return documents to their original folders and packaging after digitisation
- Assist with daily setup and shutdown of equipment, and maintain a tidy, organised working environment
- Follow handling, confidentiality, and security procedures when working with sensitive archival material
- Work closely with the project team to meet daily digitisation targets and timelines
Skills and Experience Required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with large volumes of material
- Reliable, organised, and able to follow clear instructions and workflows
- Comfortable working carefully with physical documents and handling materials responsibly
- Ability to maintain focus and consistency during repetitive tasks over extended periods
- Basic comfort using computers and digital tools (full training provided)
- Punctual, dependable, and able to work as part of a small, focused team
Nice to have (but not required):
- Background or interest in the art world, archives, libraries, museums, or cultural institutions
- Previous experience handling documents, collections, or archival material
No prior digitisation or technical experience is required; full training and guidance will be provided on-site.
